Mobile Deposit is here!  Wells Federal Bank is excited to announce our new Mobile Deposit feature.


What is Mobile Deposit?

Mobile Deposit turns a smartphone into a deposit-making device. The depositor uses the phone’s camera to snap a picture of the front and back of each check, then submits the images electronically to your financial institution. These transactions are then reviewed by bank staff before the deposit is accepted. Mobile Capture enables consumers to deposit checks individually, as they are received, reducing the risk of loss or theft and improving cash flow.

Deposit Review:

In order to manage risk of fraudulent or duplicate items, Wells Federal Bank will review all deposits submitted through the Mobiliti App. Items not meeting the requirements below will be rejected:

  •          The check must be completely and properly filled out
  •          No post-dated or stale dated (older than 6 months) will be allowed
  •          The check must be signed by the appropriate accountholder
  •          Proper endorsement is present with signature and “FOR DEPOSIT ONLY”
  •          No third party endorsements will be allowed

Tips on using Mobile Check Deposit

  •   Before logging into the Mobiliti app, close all other apps running in the background on your mobile phone.
  •   Sign/Endorse the back of your check, and label it “For Deposit Only.”
  •   When prompted for the amount, carefully enter the check amount to ensure it matches the amount written on your check.
  •   Flatten folded or crumpled checks before taking your photos.
  •   Keep the check within the view finder on the camera screen when capturing your photos.  Try not to get too much of the areas surrounding the check.
  •   Take the photos of your check in a well-lit area.
  •   Place the check on solid dark background before taking the photo of it.
  •   Keep your phone flat and steady above the check when taking your photos.
  •   Hold the camera as square to the check as possible to reduce corner to corner skew.
  •   Make sure that the entire check image is visible and in focus before submitting your deposit.
  •   No shadows across the check
  •   All four corners are visible
  •   Check is not blurry
  •   The MICR line (numbers on the bottom of your check) is readable.

How secure is Mobile Deposit?
Mobile Deposit offers the same level of security that you have with Online Banking. For added protection, the images of your checks are stored securely at the bank and not on your mobile phone.


What types of checks are accepted with Mobile Deposit?
  • Personal checks
  • Business checks
  • Government/Treasury checks
  • Cashier’s checks
  • Checks must be from a U.S. institution and in U.S. dollars.

When will my funds be available?

Deposits are subject to verification and funds may not be available immediately. Once the deposit has been received, you’ll be able to view the pending transaction online or on your phone. Checks received by the applicable cut off time (4:00pm) on a business day are usually available in your account the next business day.


What happens if there is an issue with the deposit?
If there is a problem with your deposit after the check was pending, you will receive a courtesy email with the reason for the rejected deposit.  You can check the status of you deposit by viewing “Deposit History” within the Mobility App.


Is there a limit on the amount I can deposit?
There is a daily limit of $2000.00 for Mobile Deposits.


Are there any fees?
There is no additional fee for using Mobile Deposit.


Can I use any phone to make a mobile deposit?
Users must log into their mobility app using an iPhone or Android


Can I deposit a check for a family member?
You may deposit a check for any owner on the account.  Be sure to write ‘for deposit only’ on the back of the check.
